We’ve rolled out an amazing new feature!

Now you can find your messages in the blocked and allowed lists faster! Just go to one of the lists here and click on the filter email list icon at the top-right corner as shown on the screenshot:
newfeature
You will see a checkbox with the date in the pop-up window. Just enter the date and click on Filter. Find the needed message from that date in one click. There is no need to scroll down the page finding the email through tons of other messages. In order to reset the date filter just uncheck the checkbox and click on Filter.
Currently this feature is available only in our web version. Follow our blog and you will be the first to know when it goes live on our mobile apps.

[SOLVED] Problem with accessing filtered messages – storage provider issues

We are currently experiencing problems with our main storage provider. This leads to that not all filtered messages can be viewed and released. Our provider is working on a solution and we will update this post as soon as we have more information. The filtering is still working and no messages will be lost – however the filtered messages cannot be viewed until this issue has been resolved.

Update 1: 2014-05-01 18:12 GMT+02:
There has also been disturbances with the filtering itself during the day because of this. We have now made a temporary fix, waiting for our provider to fully restore all functionality at their end. So messages filtered from now on and messages that have been filtered during the day should now be accessible again. Messages filtered before that are still unaccessible until our provider is fully available.

Update 2: 2014-05-01 20:08 GMT+02:
Our storage provider is now up and running again. We are currently synchronizing files and all filtered emails should soon be available again. We are still seeing disturbances so please be patient the next hours.

Update 3: 2014-05-01 22:48 GMT+02:
Everything should now be synchronized and all systems are up and running as normal again. We will update our systems to minimize the impact on SpamDrain when storage problems like the ones we experienced today occur.

We deeply apologize the inconvenience.

SpamDrain not affected by Heartbleed bug

There has been a lot of news the past week about a security vulnerability in a version of OpenSSL, commonly known as the “Heartbleed Bug”. This bug could potentially allow a cyberattacker to access a website’s customer data along with traffic encryption keys. We have investigated our servers thoroughly and concluded that no parts of the SpamDrain service were ever affected by the Heartbleed bug.

That being said, we strongly recommend you to check the internet services you are using to see if you should change your password for these services. Mashable has a list of well-known services affected by this bug.
If you are using the same password in SpamDrain as you do for any service affected by the bug, we recommend you also change your SpamDrain password.

Sign in issues with iOS 7

We are currently experiencing sign in problems for some users with iOS 7 using our iOS app. This is because Apple has changed something in the cookie handling in iOS 7. To solve the problem you need to update the cookie settings in Safari:
Go to the Settings app -> Safari
Change “Block Cookies” to “Never” or “From third parties and advertisers”.
Kill the SpamDrain app or restart your phone and try to sign in again.

We apologize the inconvenience and we are working to fix this as soon as possible. But it take a week or so before a new version is approved in App Store.

Network disturbances [RESOLVED]

We are currently experiencing major disturbances in one of our data centers. This leads to big disturbances in the SpamDrain service. We are working with our hosting provider to try to solve this as soon as possible.
We apologize for the invonvenience.

Update 08:45 GMT+01: All systems are now up and running again and we are monitoring all systems carefully. There may be some minor disturbances the next hour or so due to delays caused by the recent outage.

Sporadic delays in delivery [resolved]

We are experiencing delays in the delivery of domain filtered emails for one of our servers at the moment. This doesn’t affect all emails and only emails sent to domain filtered address, not POP3/IMAP filtered ones.
We are currently working on setting up new servers and fixing the faulty one and expect it to be solved later today. We regret the inconvenience.

Update: We have now solved this and moved traffic to new servers, replacing the faulty one. There should no more delays and all delayed messages should now have been delivered.

Filtering disturbances [solved]

This weekend we have experienced disturbances in some of our filtering servers. We believed that we solved all problems on Sunday 3 July, but today we found some more issues which now have been resolved.

During the passed disturbances you may have experienced some delays in email delivery if using our domain filtering. If using POP3/IMAP filtering you may have gotten spam slipping through since SpamDrain hasn’t filtered your email account with the normal frequency.

We apologize the inconvenience and are monitoring all servers extra carefully the next days.

Network maintenance

There will be some maintanance work on network infrastructure in one of the SpamDrain data centers the coming two nights (CET time):

Wednesday 05/25/2011 between 0:30am and 6:00am CET (UTC/GMT +1 hour)

Thursday 05/26/2011 between 0:30am and 6:00am CET (UTC/GMT +1 hour)

During this time you may experience down times and increased response times. If you experience problems during this time please be patient. Things should go back to normal at least after 8am.

Network maintanance work in datacenter

There will be some maintanance work on network infrastructure in one of the SpamDrain data centers the coming two nights (CET time):

Wednesday 03/16/2011 between 0:30am and 6:00am CET (UTC/GMT +1 hour)

Thursday 03/17/2011 between 0:30am and 6:00am CET (UTC/GMT +1 hour)

This should not affect SpamDrain as redundant systems will maintain normal service during this time. Should you still experience problems during this time please be patient. Things should go back to normal at least after 8am.

Move of remaining servers to new data center

The remaining servers will be moved the coming Monday, November 22, starting from 11.30 pm and the move should be finished on Tuesday, November 23, by 8 am CET. Once again, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that users won’t be affected by this. Should you still experience problems during this time please be patient. Things should go back to normal at least after 8 am.
